NOTE: Not my remake, just posting the news in case anyone else is interested

Many moons ago, there was a Wolfenstein clone released for the Amiga called Citadel:

http://www.lemonamiga.com/?mainurl=http%3A//www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php%3Fid%3D1863

Well, very some nice people have been working on a remake, which is available for Window, MacOS and Linux.

To quote from the game site:

At last, after several years of development, I can finally announce a fully playable conversion of the great Amiga game, Cytadela! This version, 0.9, brings all the levels of the original version with all in-game features.

Some other notable changes are:

    *       the game finally works on big-endian systems (many thanks to Tomasz Wiśniewski for his help with testing the big-endian support)

    *       two info screens showing information about in-game controllers, created by Marcin 'Senkal' Sękalski (the screens are displayed before training levels)

    *       WASD keys as alternative keys for walking (forward/backward and strafe left/right)

The full list of changes is available in the change log.

As always, the game can be downloaded as a source code and as compiled binaries. However, this time the Debian packages will be available some time later.

The final version, 1.0, will bring just fixes of bugs found in 0.9 and perhaps some minor improvements.

Aw! On one hand, very BOOOOOO! I thought it was the BBC Citadel....

On the other hand, I like a little Wolfy action and, though I never had this on my little Miggy, I'm now quite interested Smiley

Cool.  Never managed to play a good FPS on the Amiga.  The few I tried back in the 90's were always too slow or didn't work on my vanilla 500.

I remember trying Gloom, Fears, Alien Breed 3D and Breathless on the Amiga. Despite the technical limitations I thought Alien Breed 3D was the best game of the genre available for the machine. Smiley

Alien Breed 3D II was the best on the Amiga until Quake got ported, but my faves were Gloom Deluxe and Nemac IV.
