Looks good and plays well enough, although I think the enemies drop a lot more bombs than in the arcade version.

However, I'm not too crazy about having to use the mouse to exit the game.

Why does "Lives" at the bottom of the screen look so odd?

Is it because the other text is CAPITALISED and "Lives" is not ?

This is what I mean. You must see it...a big gap between letters. It can't be that hard to fix.
It's just small thing though. Wink

Liking the new touches you have done just two tiny things though is it possible to change to a different key instead of the Space Bar for fire and also there are no little flags in the bottom corner to say what phase you are on.

I really like the scan line effect on the ships and the background stars swirling toward you are very effective.

It did seem that on each level the enemies seemed to attack like crazy initially and then once their numbers were reduced make hardly any attacks at all.  How do you decide which and how many enemies should attack?

I did notice near the end of the level that were a lot fewer attacks so I have modified the game so that the attacks are all through the level.

The attacks are a combination of Random timers and the number aliens on screen.

Amusing!  I also like the star effect at the bottom.  The ship's death explosion needs to be scanlinerized too!  Right now it looks really horrible compared to the rest of the game.  ;P

Well, I have to admit, I quite like it. May I make a couple of suggestions to finish it off? Well I'm gonna anyway!

Firstly, the scanlines look brilliant, but need to be extended to do the text as well - both the scores on screen, and the menu screen stuff - make the whole thing scanliney for consistency.

Secondly, why not use the area on the sides of the screen for better effect. The thing that springs instantly to mind is to find the bezel artwork from the original arcade machine, and plonk that in place (if you need help in that department, let me know - I'm sure I can find it)

I'm not sure I'm a fan of a 3D starfield behind a 2D shooter, but that is a personal preference thing

I reckon that looks loads better, though I would still consider adding the scanlines to the Galaxians logo, and maybe extending the bezel so the screen is full (rather than having the empty black space on either side.) What do others think???

Yep I missed that one rushed the logo and forgot the scanlines anyway I have now modified the logo.
I thought the bezel would look a bit crappy filling all the black area especially on my widescreen monitor so decided on the smaller border.

Many thanks for your feedback.
