   Yeay!

Lara's Back!

Join Lara on her super terrific 2D retro adventure,
as she hunts for the oddly similar crosses that are
scattered throughout her crazy cross filled map.

Possible bug, when Lara dies is she supposed to start on the next level?  And a feature request, when running into a wall (or whatever obstacle) can you stop the 'bouncing' and maybe have a pushing against the wall anim frame or something.

Classic example of gameplay over graphics, this looks crap (possibly on purpose but who cares) but plays great, for what it is i loved it thanks for sticking it up, i'll get around to giving it a good bash later.

Like Dragon said the bouncing against obstacles is a tad annoying, i also notice that you can still shoot the dogs whilst standing (i assume this isn't supposed to happen and you're supposed to lie to shoot them) as the bullets shot whilst standing zip over their heads and only get absorbed whilst lying down, they die either way though.

All in all good stuff really enjoyed the bit i played thus far, like i said will have another bash later.

Although a low framerate doesn't show it properly, the "Bouncy Bouncy Wall Effect" is meant to be a hangover from this game's "Pitfall-alike" stylings..

Is it Really that annoying!?!

*shrugs*

The dog shoot thing is his ear.. If he had no ear, the bullets would pass right over him.. Bloody ears!  Normal shot = about 1/2 chance of hitting him, whereas a ducked shot has a perfect chance..
I might take his ears off Wink

And, upon quick investigation, yes.. bugger.. the game does appear to just carry on when dead.
*sigh*
I'm not used to making games with proper levels Wink

Not a bad little game at all, got to level 3 before dying and then it let me carry on to 4 and 5 before i got a game over but it was kinda nice to get to explore the extra bits and I learnt a valuable lesson in ammo conservation.

Enjoyed this, Im guessing you'll be fixing the level skip upon death problem?

the Level skip bug should been fixed, so we get the correct gameover screen instead. Also Z button to shoot should been used as well Z. Elsewise. perfect retro and nice pitfall like game.

oops, nice spotted. Hehe.

Its was with due germany's keyboard, where you have Z and Y (missed that one) have been swapped. But no need, since you can remap (diddent notice that), so that completly ok.

I did like the game as well.

PS. The popop when game exit can been pretty annoyring too (not testet the newest dw yet). Should beeen do a least once I think and then do this on the splash screen (after the logo).

This game is really nice! Smiley I only wonder why use defined "Z" as jump button? CTRL, Space or ALT would be much more common...

It's vitally important to use ZXCV instead of Ctrl Alt Space.
PC Keyboards have hardcoded limits that completely mess up when certain keyboard combinations are used.

example..
Hold Down and Right.
Lara crouches and faces right.
Keep held, and also hold Up.
Lara still crouches (this is coded this way)

Then, release, and rehold Down.
Lara should do a stupid looking frog leap to the right, then recrouch..

Now try it to the left.
If your keyboard is like mine, a keyboard hardware issue will emerge..
This time, Lara will set off on an infinite set of jumps to the left.
This is because your keyboard can't register the down key, whilst the left and up keys are held.

'tis a hardware bug, and a reason there's a secondary jump button.

These issues crop up a LOT when you use the spacebar.

Don't use the spacebar...

Its called ghosting and the keys happens is various from keyboard to keyboard. its depend how its internal have been wired:
http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=155329

Personly I allways use ctrl to jump which can avoid that too, but since you can remap, just doing that, if you dont have ghosting issue with space....

I really want to dig this thread up, as I've been playing this game today and it's awesome. Going to make some levels in a bit, when I get some time.

Keep up the excellent work dude! Cheesy
