Hahahahah Hohohoho .... the perfect path fining routine .... the snake will always find you ... god, it makes him so dumb tho....he travels all the way to the top of the pyramid juts to come all the way back down again Wink I think my system needs a further tweek Wink 3 levels of stupidity for the snake stupid, stupider, and moronically stupid should suffice Wink

Them darned sneaky snakes ... very clever...using the spinners as platforms ! This will not do !

So im happy with how things are going, the next post (hopefully) will have a playable attachement, just to get feedback on feel and speed and what not ... hopefully Wink

OK...2 days mucking around with the migy is over, time to get back down to this and crack on...I gotta get summat out for ppl to play if only to see if ppl enjoy the spinner routines as I do (ive boshed on 20 spinners on a single level just so I can watch it !)

But enough of that, now my old skool resurection has come to an end its time to get back into the 21st centry...and start remaking oldskool games again Wink

So what I do is this ...

I flag the spinner block from 99 to -99, set the "On Spinner flag" to 1 and turn off the path finding routine, keeping it the same for the duration of the "on spinner".  I then set block (0,0) as a "temporay" spinner and do all anim and movement on that making sure q*bert stick to that. I remember the position of the spinner ive used for later. I then move the new spinner, but as the snake is looking at the old spinner which is no longer there it can fall off. once the spinner anim is over I then clear the original spinner location so it cant be jumped on again. Make sense ?

Im asking here because explaining it to the missus is just getting me a blank look back (pretty much the same look as when I ask for sex)

Would you allow the snakes to use the spinners as tho they were blocks in order to get to you or not ?

On later levels yes, it's a nice additional challenge (unless it breaks it completely and makes it impossible obv)

I would say either you allow it (the snake to use teleporters) straight away, or inform players later (in some way), so that they know the snake can do that.

Things appear to be coming together nicely now. I can tease Coily off the pyramid, and now the baddie objects kill me Wink Im gunna pump away further at this today and I hope I can get something out ther for someone to at least try and give a verdict about Wink
