Some people might say that it's exactly the same game.

Those people would only be half right.

This time it has fruit, and ghosts, thereby making it an entirely different game indeed!

Download Link to Get Blockman Gets More!

Once you've unlocked everything, there are still 6 available gameplay slots left in the menu.  Those are magically locked because I couldn't think of anything else to add, late last night.
If you can think of any other sorts of gameplay modes, let me know!

This is brilliant. I've been playing it and I'm actually going to put together a LP of it. I don't see anyone else chiming in on this one, but I hope you're getting some feedback somewhere else.

So here's my thought: You're not done. Don't stop.

I really liked the ice levels. It felt more pacman-y. However, it was also killer. What'd be good is if the game would always play like that, would be more forgiving on when it accepted the keypress for a turn, showed that blockman was planning on turning by hugging a side, and didn't automatically go to dead areas unless there was no other option.

I also liked the lava levels. And the sand levels. I haven't figured out what the grass levels have going for them besides spikes. But what I wish was that there was an ultimate level where you could have all those optional abilities turned on. Ice's slide, sands wall knock, and lava's tile burn. Actually, the wall knock could be a cool powerup or something. Buy it or earn it and it stays with you until you loose a life. Kinda like the bomberman explosion control switch.

Very slick and nice. Another great take twist on a classic. Shame I really really don't like Pacman-y games Sad

Ghost squishing addition is very satisfying. Smiley

Smacking them with a boulder feels even better than munching them. Cheesy

We can officially call this "Pretty much it" as far as feedback's concerned.  Nice that it only took 3 days to get any feedback.  Good job I didn't ask for any donations!! Wink

Anything extra can and will (time permitted!) be added onto this edition.  It's nowhere NEAR as "hard-coded" as the original version. Although it is still all internal, it's much easier to add new things. Amazing what a whole recode can achieve, but annoying how, for the most part, it doesn't actually appear to have any visible additions what-so-ever!

So, yeah, if you'd like to throw about some ideas for other world-based extras, I'll be happy to hear them.

Taking out ice, and making the game more forgiving but always slidey?  Honestly, I don't see that happening.  Pretty much the whole challenge of the game rests on you messing it up!  To add a safety net would make the whole game that much easier, and kill most of it's difficulty.
I suppose I could add an Easy mode, though. ..  ?

At the moment the per-world things are per-world specific because of the Ice.  Once the ice was drawn it was obvious that it needed to be skiddy, and the rest kinda fell into place from there.. Ideas evolved in this Socoder topic, last Friday (game was then released Tuesday!  RapidDev!!! GO!)

The "Neon" theme even actually has it's own slight rule, in that you can't see the fallen floor.  That doesn't really help/hinder at all, but at least in the other modes you can see where the blue-ghost's going to stop. ..  .. Oh, yeah, btw, the blue ghost walks, the red ghost floats..  I haven't mentioned that anywhere, have I!?

So, yeah, more rules would be nice but I'd like to level them out again.. Maybe more world with more rules, or even an extra 1 rule per world.. *shrugs*

Then once we're all powered up, we can start playing with bonuses, and perhaps a few pickups and things?

..
Like I said, though.. Time permitted!  Still doing AGameAWeek here!

I humbly disagree. The challenge is not not messing up, it's not cutting myself off from power dots so I can keep going, as well as finding the most round about path to get there. The control scheme I'm suggesting still supports that 100%.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't mess up this game unless I'm not thinking ahead enough. But the moment to moment decisions don't trip me up, I have yet to press a button into a blank spot by accident. Again, maybe that's just me. So automating the travel process is not something I feel bad about at all. In fact if I could just draw way points and have blockman follow the path himself I'd love to do that. Or even better, just draw way points and fill in the screen as fast as I'd like I'd love that.

Blockman Gets (1st) was entered into the 2BeeGames compo, in the vague hopes that others would like it.
Meanwhile I built Gets More as a stepping stone between what is, and what could be potentially on Xbox Live should there be any interest in that area.

Blockman Gets wasn't one of the 10 entries, and has garnered bog all attention.

So, balls to that idea, lets make more Gets!!!

Blockman Gets Even More is now the "May as well do!!" area of my brain, and right now I'm just trying to come up with more ideas.
Cymon's come up with a few suggestions above, and also in his little LP video, which allowed me to see more of his thought process as he played.. Thumbs up for having made that.

Will BGEM be a redo, or will it be a continuation of the current one?
And what else could possibly fit in!?

Hmm.
Thoughts, and ideas galore.

If you can think of anything, anything at all, let me know.

..
and, XNA?!  Should I?!  Could I!?!!?

And for those who didn't see it, the LP in question:
