One of my most played Atari 2600 games and Mat Smith loved it too.

It looks LOVELY. It makes me think "16-bit home computer" which is a good thing - it wouldn't look out of place on my battered and well loved Atari ST. Smiley

Very cool, one of my favorites from C64, the Miner game that made sense to me. Cheesy
Looking forward to it.

thanks.
it does have elements of the original, but it is different. i loved the original, but when you go back and play them nowdays, they are pretty basic and were limited in what the hardware would allow.
it keeps the fixed jump, as it definently adds to the challenge of where you can jump to.
most of the special things that were part of miner are there in some form - and more.

I think you've nailed the look bang on there. It just looks "right".

Awesome work.

It does look like a Atari ST game. Unfortunatly (and obviously I'm in a minority) the gfx don't work so well for me in terms of what I remember the original as being. I would prefer more updated (but in a retro style) versions of the original gfx.

However, that's just my personal opinion, there is nothing wrong with the art.

2049er always felt like a blatant cash grab mixed with fanwank to me.
This one looks good, though! Smiley

Theres always going to be 2 camps regarding remakes. Faithful or "re-interpreted".
Whichever way you look at it, you may disappoint some and please others.
My view about Miner2049er was of fond memories a long long time ago. I used to play it a lot.
I played it again a while back before i had the idea to make this game.
I found it pretty basic nowdays, but for its time back then it was a leader.
I tried to maintain the game as much as i could and do my version of it. Its not a direct copy, and those wanting that will most likely get the pitchforks and hunt me down.

See what you think...

Just had a quick play and personally found it spot on.

Fun wee platformsr.
Engine is solid and the graphics look just as good moving Smiley.

I like the wee intermissions explaining what bits do as well. Be really handy for people who have never played,

Nice job.

It's great. I was never really a big fan of the original but this one is really nice. Nothing wrong with the playability...and it's looks absolutely great. So cute.

It takes a bit of getting used to where you can walk off platforms and where you can't, and how far you can jump, and so on, but that's the same with most platform games.

Still haven't gotten past level 5...but I'll do it. Cheesy

One small niggle though; there's no mention on the menu screen of the keys, so it took me a while of frantic keypressing to find that the shiftkey was the fire/jump key.

hmm, mac - ill see what i can do.

in the Options, you can change your keys. but yeah - i sorta see what you mean by mashing until you find one that works. i'll have to add something on the titlescreen that indicates what button to press.

Can't download it, just get a 404 error about not being able to get the error page that says it can't be downloaded, quite bizzare :-(

Space should been default which is that key many would trying to use as jump and not left shift, so I agree with the issue.

A another small bug, is you need to go into options before the menu accept the new jump key and that jump key should of course been usable in the menu as well.

I have only one another request: I also would like to hide the options as well or lock that, then this game would been 100% cabinet safe with limited controls.

Also this is a really nice game.

You do realize that on some keyboards, you can't press the space key and two arrow keys at the same time, right?
